Pastor Dan Glass accepted a call to serve as our pastor, in June of 2015.
Dan was born in 1975, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Led to the Lord at an early age by his mother, Dan had the blessing of growing up in a Christian family, attending church from his earliest years.
Dan went to Bob Jones University from 1993-97. He paid his way through college by working on commercial fishing boats in Alaska, where he was first exposed to this beautiful state. He graduated with a major in History, and married his sweetheart and best friend, Rachel.
Rachel grew up in rural Utah, where her father planted churches and pastored. She graduated from Bob Jones University with a degree in nursing.
Upon graduating and marriage, Dan and Rachel moved to Fairbanks in 1997. Rachel found work at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, eventually working in the NICU, while Dan ended up teaching High School classes at Hamilton Acres Baptist Church. After 6 years of God’s gentle leading, Dan and Rachel both understood and accepted God’s call for him to enter pastoral ministry.
In 2003, Dan, Rachel, and their son John moved down to Lansdale, PA to enter Calvary Baptist Seminary. Three years later, Dan graduated with a Master of Divinity, and the day after graduation the family—grown to include Hannah—moved back to Fairbanks, where Dan was ordained to the pastoral ministry at Hamilton Acres Baptist Church in 2006. The ensuing years were rich with opportunities to preach and counsel. Their family has grown to include their son, Brendon. Pastor Dan has been well received by the congregation. We anticipate years of fruitful service, as pastor and people, together, look to the Chief Shepherd, our Lord Jesus Christ.
